THROUGH YEARS OF R&D WE HAVE PRODUCED
THE LUCID CORE
BENEFITS THAT COME WITH LUCID
THERE ARE SEVERAL REASONS for using
NO FOAM, NO WOOD, A different approach to a 70 year old technology. Its not the material that makes our product an eco-friendly choice, its the volume of boards that we can make per production run and amount of waste we produce.
For starters, a lucid surfboard is twice as strong as a standard foam board. yes they can still break but they'll last twice as long or more. If you damage a lucid board and it fills with water, drain it, patch it and as good as new. NO water logging or delamination!
Our skateboards are made of composites, the same exact material that a lucid surfboard is made of. Rain will not make this board delaminate, rot or go soft! A Lucid Core can withstand all the elements that Mother Nature can throw at it and even some that you just won't be able to survive in.
HAND and machine made
We have blended two worlds and combined the best of both handmade and machine made. We use machines to create the precision components giving us performance
repeatability where it counts. The remaining 80% is handmade by skaters, surfers and engineers WITH A perfectionisTS qualitY. WE ARE A SMALL GARAGE RAN BUSINESS WITH A WHOLE LOT OF PASSION, BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS PUT IN TO ALL OUR PRODUCTS.
HERE AT LUCID WE PRIDE OURSELVES IN BREAKING THE STANDARDS OF THE INDUSTRY. RE-ENVISIONING AND PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES OF TRADITIONAL CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN. WE ALWAYS FIND OURSELVES IN SOME OF THE NEWEST CUTTING EDGE PROCESSES, materials AND TECHNOLOGY.
THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LUCID CORE
The concept of the lucid core was born in 2014 and with years of R&d we didn't just make surf and skateboards, we made an entirely new core! There was nothing like it at the time of creation, no handbook, no machinery, no one to guide us or give advice, it's that new! What is this core? It is a composite grid constructed of the finest materials that can be customized in many different ways. We can alter and fine tune the shape, weight, strength, stiffness, color and heat resistance. Over the years we have abused our boards in every way. We have jumped on, punched, beat with hammers, put in extreme climates, ran over with trucks, cried over snapping them in half, sunk, UV tested, and a list of things that never failed to impress.
